Analysis of Census Migration data to assist in defining HMAs for TW
An analysis by CURDS of Census 2001 migration in and around Tyne and Wear, identifying Housing Market Areas (HMAs) for TW Housing Partnership.
This uses techniques similar to those used to identify Travel-to-Work-Areas (TTWAs). The main outcomes are HMAs with a) 70% self-containment (sc) of migrants (as per ODPM HMA manual) and b) 97% sc, including non-migrants.
This research was funded by the NE Assembly and project managed by TWRI.
